The bodypack pairs to any channel on an AIR-B2 or AIR-B4 receiver. Tap a channel to switch it between a handheld and a bodypack — we'll tell you what to order.

Each receiver channel carries one transmitter at a time. The handhelds that come with your receiver stay useful — pair a channel back to a handheld whenever the program changes.

No menus and no frequency charts. Pick a channel on the receiver, press SET, then hold the bodypack's IR window up to the receiver. Done.

At 82 grams with a spring-steel belt clip, the AIR-BX-B1 sits on a belt, waistband or lanyard pouch without dragging. Everything you need to touch is on the front.

  • Locking mini-XLR input — the mic cable latches in, so it can't work loose mid-burpee or mid-sermon.
  • Screw-on antenna on top, clear of your body for a stronger signal.
  • Slide-open battery door on the back — swap in a charged 18650 in seconds.

The AIR-BX-B1 is RCM certified and transmits on the same channels as your AIR-B2 or AIR-B4 — all below 694 MHz, inside the 520–694 MHz band set aside for wireless microphones in Australia.

  • RCM certified as part of both the AIR-B2 and AIR-B4 systems, tested to AS/NZS 4268 and EN 300 422-1.
  • Nowhere near 694–820 MHz, where wireless mics can no longer be used in Australia.

Does the AIR-BX-B1 work on its own?

No — it's a transmitter. It sends your voice to an AIR-B2 or AIR-B4 receiver, which connects to your mixer, speaker or amplifier. If you don't have a receiver yet, start with an AIR-B2 (two channels) or AIR-B4 (four channels).

Can I use it alongside the handheld mics?

Yes. Each receiver channel carries one transmitter at a time, so pair the bodypack to whichever channel you want hands-free. On an AIR-B2 that could be one handheld and one bodypack; on an AIR-B4, any mix of up to four.

Headset or lapel — which should I use?

The headset sits close to your mouth, so it stays loud and clear in noisy rooms, while moving, or near speakers. The lapel is more discreet and suits calm rooms, interviews and anyone who doesn't want a boom on their face. Both are included.

How do I pair it?

On the receiver, choose a channel with ▲ ▼ and press SET until the display shows F-----. Then hold the bodypack's IR window up to the receiver's IR window. The bodypack's screen confirms the channel and frequency.

How long does the battery last, and can I replace it?

About 10 hours per charge. It uses a removable 18650 lithium cell (3.7 V, 2200 mAh), so you can keep a charged spare on hand for back-to-back sessions.

How do I charge it?

Through the charging contacts on the base. The AIR-BX Charging Dock (sold separately) holds a bodypack and a handheld and runs from USB-C.

Is it approved for use in Australia?

Yes. It’s RCM certified and uses the same channels as your AIR-B2 or AIR-B4 — all below 694 MHz, inside the 520–694 MHz band set aside for wireless microphones in Australia. Pick channels that aren't used by local TV; the ACMA Channel Finder shows what's active at your address.
